Review of Time For A Change by Lee Alex – DVD

If you have ever wondered how an instant costume change is accomplished, this is the DVD for you. There are five costume changes in the DVD. Lee Alex shows you the method and everything you need to do to perform it. Explanations are given in explicit details.

Lee Alex will show his own gimmicked costumes and how to go about making them.  It’s so much fun watching him explain the changes. My favorite is the change from a short costume to a long costume, there is no way you wouldn’t impress someone with that. Apart from showing you how to construct the costumes, Lee Alex will show you how to wear and set up for the performance.

The most difficult part of doing a costume change is probably to acquire the costume. You may be able to buy some off the shelf but it may not suit you. With this DVD you can choose whatever style you want and customize it yourself. Most of the costume change in the DVD doesn’t need any assistant; there is only one costume in which you may need the help of an assistant to put on. During performance, you don’t need any assistant and you can do this solo.

At the end of the DVD, Lee Alex’s marketed item “Color Changing Waistcoat” is exposed. He teaches the finer method to perform this piece. The Color Changing Waistcoat is very clever and I foresee that sales of the Color Changing Waistcoat will increase in the near future.

This is a very informative and useful DVD in which all stage/ parlor magicians should own. Highly recommended! Rating 4.5/5.

Reflection by Bill Goodwin and Dan & Dave Buck – DVD

I’m impressed by this DVD; it has excellent routines/ effects, sleights, packaging, video editing, teaching style and crediting. Included in the DVD is a very nicely printed booklet crediting the originator where Bill Goodwin’s sleights and routines were inspired from.

Bill Goodwin is a very accomplished performer and his teaching method is clear and concise. I was fooled so many times while going thru the performance video. Each time I was fooled, I smiled, I felt so happy being fooled. While going thru the explanation, I smiled again, the sleights are so clever!

All the routines are performed standing which is good for restaurant workers. Though these routines are not for beginners, I’d still recommend this DVD to all levels. The beginners will be inspired and the advanced magician will have something to add to their repertoire. Highly recommended for card workers. Rating 4.5/5
